What is a parcel locker?

Parcel lockers are making a regular appearance around the country and you may have seen them yourself without realising. These lockers have been appearing in shops and other busy areas for parcels to be placed in, in a convenient location for its users. As there are so many of them to choose from, users find a parcel locker that is close to where they work or where they live. The smart locking systems we provide for these lockers give you the option between some control over the locks or minimal control of the locks. Below, we detail the difference between the two.

What types of parcel locks are offered for my lockers?

There are two different types of locking systems that are suitable to install on parcel lockers and these include live web managed locks and access code managed locks. Each type of lock uses a specific method to ensure security:

Live web managed: these locks allow your users access to a parcel lock, which you control remotely in one place. This smart locking system allows you to set up notifications, respond to any issues and review log files, so you know what is happening with your locks in real time. You can give your users instant access to their parcel locker without having to physically be in the building with them.

Access code managed: when you purchase this system from us, we will set up a customer account for you and assign your parcel locks to you. The parcel handler reserves a locker online, makes a deposit and emails the recipient with the pick-up code. The code can be set to expire if the parcel is not collected by the intended recipient. This simplifies handovers on campuses and helps minimise unnecessary face-to-face contact.
